Fivedaysfivedaysfivedaaaaaaaaaaaaaays! Actually, four and a half, but who's counting? We have been ready for summer for a couple weeks around here. In fact, we have been kind of pretending that it is summer already.
It all started when our new pool arrived. We had had the last one for three summers and it wasn't going to make it a fourth. So we decided to upgrade to a bigger one. The day it showed up on our doorstep was not at all warm and a little bit sprinkly, but we couldn't wait to tear into the box.
We were a little alarmed to read the instructions on the side of the box. We're hoping they mean pool...
You know when your kids are babies and you buy them a ton of presents for Christmas and all they play with is the box? They still do that when they're six!!!
I can't even begin to imagine how cold the water was, but they weren't about to miss the first chance to swim.
And in the morning when the pool was full, they didn't waste a minute. Although, I'm not sure why Ben went swimming in long sleeves.
Beside swimming, we also celebrated the end of baseball season. We are so proud of our little baseball player and can't wait until next year!!!
For Memorial Day weekend, we headed to the lake. The weather was about what we expect for Memorial Day around here but that didn't slow us down much. We took some walks
(Seriously, this is my favorite place to be!!!)
and went for some swims
We threw rocks
and Ben went swimming with his long sleeves again.
There was some fishing
and some gutting
Some of us jumped off the dock
and some of us worked on making faces for the camera
and reading.
My cousins came to visit with their sweet new baby and we couldn't love more. (Abby told me the other day that she made a wish for me to have another baby. Thank goodness she told me because now it won't come true. Right? RIGHT?!??!)
And Abby was happy that she caught a fish too!!!!
Last weekend, Abby cartwheeled her way through the big parade downtown and we couldn't have been more proud!
This weekend was all about swimming. My dad has been busy building a platform for them to jump from (stay tuned for more on that) but in the meantime we just stacked up some pallets. Not redneck. Nope. Not at all.
We also ate our first meals outside. A sure sign that summer is on the way!!!
Today we went to a friend's house to swim in their big pool. We hadn't been there 2 minutes before they hit the diving board.
It was a great day filled with great friends
and jumping
and splashing
and flying
and swimming
and laughing.
Bring it on, summer. The Millers are ready for you!!!!
