My One True Love

With tomorrow being Valentine's Day and all, I thought you all should hear about the love of my life.  It has only been a couple of months but seriously, I don't know how I lived without her.  Her??!?  Yes.  Her.  And don't worry.  My husband knows all about her.  After all, he introduced us.  She is an amazingly hard worker and she does so much for me.  Ladies and gentleman, it is time you all learned the truth.  I love love love love love love LOVE Roomba.

Like I have never loved a non-person in my life.

You know that commercial where the sad broom is sitting all lonely and depressed in the attic because no one needs it anymore?  That is my house!!!!  I haven't used my broom since Christmas.

Seriously.

And my  floors have never been cleaner.  Which is saying a lot.  You see our "yard" is not so much a yard as a bunch of dirt.  Which equals a mud pit in the winter (and fall...and spring) and a dust bowl in the dry month.  Which means that every time someone comes in the house they bring dirt.  And I know that my kids are now seven and I, for one would expect that they could get most of the food in their mouths at any given meal but apparently my bar is a bit high because we could feed a small country off the floor multiple times a day.  So for me, sweeping has been like laundry...a never ending chore.

But not since my new love came into my life.  No sireee.  Now we set her up to clean while we are out and we come home to a crumb free floor.  It is glorious!  The amount of stuff that she picks up is both amazing and disturbing at the same time.  My life will never be the same.

Now I just need a robot to do my laundry.  And cook.  And clean toilets.  I need Rosie.

Get on that, Roomba people.

Snow Much Fun!

It has been two years since we have had any measurable (you know, enough to play in) snow so we were all  thrilled to have it make a decent showing this weekend.  The kids were excited it snowed, I am over winter and ready for summer (as in summer break) so I was excited that we didn't end up with snow during the week, causing a make up day.  Phew!!!  June 13th, here I come!
