What if...

What if I won that big ol' lotto last night? Wouldn't that have been great? Of course I probably should have bought a ticket if I wanted a chance at that. My lack of ticket did not stop me from dreaming about what I would have done with the money. Here's what I'm thinking...

1. Pay off my house!!! Wouldn't that be sweet? 29 years early.

2. Pay off houses of people I love. Just because I didn't buy a ticket this time doesn't mean I won't buy one next time. It might be a good idea to pull out all the stops to make me love you between now and then.

3. I really don't know for sure what I would do about my job. Some days I really like it. Some days, not so much. I guess it would depend on the day. One thing's for sure, I would dump a ton of money into my school. The building is pretty but the kids (& teachers!!) could use so much.

4. I would donate to charity. When I do donate, I always wish I could do more. I feel like with $355,000,000 I could.

5. I would buy things that I have wanted but can't justify spending the money on at this time. New chairs for my living room so my friends have places to sit when they come over. A treadmill to get me off the couch. Professional (not JC Penny's) family photos. A closet full of new clothes. Round Table pizza for dinner a couple nights a week. A cleaning fairy who does all of the stuff I don't love to do...dusting, bathrooms, windows.

6. I would do major improvements on my deck and yard. Why? Because this is my current situation:
Can you even see my tiny little decks? You can't open the doors while you are standing on the porch or you will get knocked off. I want a big deck with lots of room to entertain. And I would need a big grill, and a patio set. A real one, not the mismatched chairs I got on clearance at the end of the summer. And while I'm at I can't wait to get rid of all of the weeds in our mud pit, I mean yard, and replace them with nice green grass. And a sprinkler system. And then I will buy my husband a riding mower. And build a shed to put it in.
7. I would rest easy knowing that my children can go to any college they want to without having to worry about paying for it for the rest of their lives.
8. I would take a vacation. With my family. I would go somewhere sunny and hot. I would sit by the pool for a month or two and if I liked it there I would buy myself a house so I could go back whenever I wanted. And the house I buy would have lots of beds so I could bring my friends with me when I came so I had people to play with.
Did I miss anything? I probably did but it looks like I have time to think about it.

  1. I'm in for the vacation home. Good thing we're already friends! We love you and you wouldn't even have to pay off our house. Just make sure the Reaughs have a permanent spot in that vacation house!
