It's Alive!!

You will never believe what happened today on the way to my mom and dad's house to get our Christmas tree.  There was a spider in the car!  It was about the size of a pin head and, from what I could tell, not moving, but it caused a whole lot of trouble.  Lucky for you, I had the camera!  Now before you watch this video, there are a couple things you should know.  Number one, this had been going on for quite a few miles.  Number two, the other voice you hear is Ben mocking her.  Number Three, we were playing "I spy with my little eye" to try and distract her.  Got all that?  Okay, GO!

I know.  I'm terrible.  But it was too funny.  Well, you will be happy to know we did finally make it to Grammy's (after Daddy pulled over and let the poor spider out) and we picked out our tree.  Yes, we get our tree from my dad's back yard.  It's free.  Here is this year's pick:

Yup!  That's after it was all tied down.  This is how we drove home.  Laughing at all of the people we passed with tiny trees tied neatly to the tops of their station wagons.

When we got there, Robbie readied his homemade contraption, I mean Christmas tree stand, and luckily we had some family come help us get it into the house.
Ta-Da!!  20 foot tree, ready for lights!
You know what this means?  Tomorrow I can do the thing I wait all year for...wrap presents!!!

M.I.A.

Don't worry, I'm here!  I know you probably think that I fell off the face of the earth or something, but good news!  I have just been busy getting my craft on.  Anyone who follows me on Pintrest probably already figured out that I have been hunkered down making felt food because I have pinned about a million different pictures of it.  Abby needs some more food for her inside kitchen (not to be confused with all of the food outside in her play house kitchen, which we all know must stay in the outside kitchen because her mother is anal and ocd and can't stand when things aren't in their right place) and the stuff at the store is either cheap (as in crappy) or expensive or, more often than not, both.  So I started looking at pictures of felt food, bought some (all right, 7 yards) felt and started sewing.  You know me.  Once I start something I don't sleep well until it is finished.  So in between working and taking care of my family I spent the past two weeks on this project.  What all did I make?  I thought you'd never ask.  My friends, feast (get it?!?) your eyes on this!
 Bow Tie Pasta, anyone?
Or how about some yummy doughnuts?
Maybe an ice cream cone or a Popsicle, if you eat all of your dinner.
How about an egg and pancake breakfast?
 Or some goldfish crackers?
Don't forget your fresh fruits and veggies.
Can I interest you in a corn dog?
How about a PB & J for lunch?  We have grape, raspberry or strawberry jam!
At the Miller house, tacos are by far our favorite dinner so I had to make sure she had all the fixin's.
The other day she mentioned that she needed some pot holders as well, so...
So there you have it.  I am sorry I have been ignoring you.  It's just that for the past 14 days my schedule has looked like this:  Work, dinner, swimming lessons, kids to bed, sew like a crazy person, sleep.  Now that I am done with that, I will try to do better.  But who am I kidding?  My list of things to do in the next 6 weeks (the next  years really) is pretty long and you know how I get crazy, I mean focused, with things on my list.  So don't forget about me.  Check back soon because you know that the holidays are always good for some fun around here and you don't want to miss out!
